Excelpoint supports If You Care Share

Learn about how Excelpoint are continuing to work with local North East charities, to allow them to reach and impact more lives in need.

Working with IF U CARE SHARE

If U Care Share (IUCS) is a charity devoted to, predominantly young people who may be suffering from depression or an anxiety disorder, encouraging them to unload their emotions onto people willing to listen and help them. They have 3 main aims: prevention, intervention and support those bereaved by suicide. Their base of operations is situated in Chester-Le-Street, Co. Durham.

IUCS were established in 2005 after brothers Matthew and Ben and cousin Sarah suffered the tragic suicide of their brother and cousin, Daniel O’Hare. They first started the charity in Daniel’s memory by producing a wristband displaying the message “If U Care Share”. After working with young people’s projects within the Samaritan’s North East region and accumulating over £48000, IUCS are now a fully fledged charity in their own right.

Charities don’t want to worry about any software and admin issues deterring them from helping the people who need their help the most. However, these problems do occur with regards to finances, admin and storing various types of information. Like many similar charities, IUCS struggled with initially organising and specifically storing the vast amount of information they had. A business was required to solve these issues, to make IUCS more efficient with software, allowing them to be more efficient with helping more people.

Once recognising the need to make some minor changes to their software, they administered Excelpoint to solve the issues IUCS were facing. Excelpoint had seen problems like this before with previous charities they have done work for. IUCS had a lot of disjointed information stored over spreadsheet, with no central storage for the information to be stored. Excelpoint created that central storage place, allowing IUCS to access all the information easily, also we organised the disjointed information and segregated it to be more specific and more accessible so IUCS can operate with more efficiency. Furthermore, Excelpoint controlled access to different screens, meaning the finance sector had private and easy access to IUCS finances. As a result of these changes, IUCS have a much more efficient system in place enabling them to focus on carrying out their charitable events and duties.
